Conditions we treat

Cardiovascular conditions can have wide-ranging effects on your overall health and wellness. While some can be mitigated with medication and lifestyle changes, some require more serious intervention. Our mission is to be prepared to expertly treat any condition we are presented with, including:

  • Atherosclerosis
  • Cardiac and circulatory congenital abnormalities
  • Heart arrhythmia
  • Heart failure
  • Heart valve disease
  • Hyperlipidemia
  • Hypertension
  • Pericardiocentesis

Diagnostic heart screening and imaging tests

Successful treatment begins with a complete, comprehensive diagnosis. Your condition is unique, and we treat it that way, so we offer a variety of tests designed to identify causes of cardiac symptoms by assessing the structure and function of your heart. Testing we offer includes:

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)
  • Electrophysiology (EP) studies
  • Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE)
  • Cardiac intravascular ultrasound
  • Hematology/coagulation lab tests
  • Long-term ambulatory monitoring
  • Nuclear imaging and stress testing
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Sleep studies related to cardiological issues
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
  • Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE)

Our cardiovascular services

When you come to us for your care, we work to understand you and your condition as much as possible. It is understandable to be wary about the prospect of surgery, so we go over all possible treatments before moving forward with serious alternatives like surgery. Our cardiovascular specialists stay current with leading-edge research studies, and also specialize in nonsurgical education initiatives, such as lipid management, so you can explore all preoperative options. We also have an anticoagulation clinic, so that medication is available as a viable option, should your condition warrant it.

Heart surgery

If surgery is recommended, our board-certified interventional cardiologists possess the necessary experience you need to overcome cardiovascular complications. Using minimally invasive techniques whenever possible, including cardiac catheterization, we work tirelessly to ensure that you have the highest levels of comfort before, during and after surgery. Minimally invasive surgical advances continue to accumulate benefits for you, including minimal scarring and faster recovery times.

Some of the surgical services we offer include:

  • Atherosclerosis atherectomy and endarterectomy
  • Automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) implantation
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Cardiac closure devices for atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO)
  • Cardioversion
  • Carotid stenting
  • Catheter ablation
  • Congenital heart surgery
  • Coronary angioplasty and stent placement
  • Heart valve repair
  • Lead extraction of implantable devices
  • Pericardial window procedure
